Yes ma'am!

In this episode of AskTheLibrarian Q1 is played by the mother and Q2 is played by the daughter.

Q1 (whispering to Q2) Just go ask her.

R Can I help you ladies?

Q1 Yes, my daughter is looking for a book. Tell her what you are looking for.

Q2 Yes, I am looking for this book, for school, it is called Midwives.

R Well, let me look it up and see if we have a copy.

R ...We sure do. Why don't you come with me and I will show you where it is.

R This is the fiction section, it is arranged alphabetically by author. There are stickers on the sides of the book that have the first three letters of the authors name.

R Here you go, two copies one paperback and one hardcover.

Q1 Get the hardcover.

R Can I help you with anything else?

Q2 Um, yes, do you have The Poisonwood Bible?

R Oooooh. I just finished that one. It is monstruosly long but it was really good. It is right over here.

Q1 Is it appropriate for her?

R What grade are you in?

Q1 She is in the ninth grade.

R Sure, the story is about four daughters and three of the four are around her age.

R They have to move the Africa.

Q1 Don't give the whole thing away!

R It is the same thing that is on the book jacket.

R Anyway, their father is a missionary and takes them all to Africa.

Q2 It sounds like it goes with my theme.

R Can I help you with anything else?

Q2 No, that's it.

Q1 She has to read these in nine weeks.

R Oh that is no problem. Good luck.
